High Jump

This is a video of me doing high and the leg that is closest to the mat is the one that you lift up. I hope you will like my high jump video:).

Athletics

On Wednesday the 23rd of November the middle and the senior syndicate went out for athletics. The activities that we had to do were , long jump , high jump , 60 metre sprint , 100 metre sprints , 200 metre , throwing and just to keep our hearts pumping , it was the energising games. After lunch the middles race in a relay and room 7 won and after us the seniors race in the relay and it was a tied between room 15 and room 14.

Jack had 24 apples. He gave 1\6 of these to Mike. How many apples did Mike get? 4

Long Jump

I can use my arms to help myself to jump higher in the air.

I need to work on to keep using my arms.

Spotlight on the Arts

This is photo of me in the spotlight on the arts show. I was preforming jump jam on that Wednesday night. The spotlight on the arts was the best night of my life and I hope I can do it some other time next year!

I think computers are cool because they have lots of information that you could learn from and they are easy to use. You and also watch videos, play games and go on blogs sites, you can go on web sites like voice thread, blogger.com and photo peach to make videos. I especially like going on computer games because they are lots of fun.

How to Make Jelly

Goal: To make jelly

Ingredients:

  Spoon


• 
  
  Bowl


• 
  
  Jelly Sachet


• 
  
  Hot Water

  Measuring Cup

Method

1. 
   
   Rip the top of the jelly sachet off.


2. 
   
   Pour the jelly sachet into a bowl.


3. 
   
   Tip 2 cups of hot water into the bowl.


4. 
   
   Mix with a spoon untill the sachet has dissolved.


5. 
   
   Put the bowl into the fridge and let it set for 2 hours.


6. 
   
   Get the bowl out of the fridge and then enjoy.

I can write my steps in order and I have got the ingrediants so you know what you need.

Healthy drinks

Yesterday Millie from project energize to talk to us about healthy drinks and what you shouldn't drink all the time. Some of the drinks are coke, V, water, fruit juice, raro and lot more. In the raro it has 4 tsp. The cokes all have caffeine and if I start drinking it imagine what my addiction will be when I am 30. The other thing is that I drink it now my heart will beat faster and faster until it stops.

Perseverance

This term our big idea is perseverance.

Perseverance means you keep on trying and you don't pull out.

In gymnastics I had to persevere when I did a forwards roll on the beam and I kept falling off but in the end I got there. I had to keep on trying to do the forwards roll on the beam.

Reflection on Term 2

In this term has been very exciting . The thing I enjoyed this term is having winter sports because they were all fun.
I learnt about Hotumatua and Matariki. On my voice thread I said what I learnt about him and the things that are around him.
Next term I want to learn more about Reading, Writing and Maths.

Basketball

In room7 we did basketball for winter sports last week.

I learnt that you couldn't double dribble other wise it goes to the other team.

It was a little hard because the other team can get it out of your hands.

Dribbling the ball was the easiest thing to do for me.

Basketball is o.k but I would rather stick to netball instead.

Soccer

In room7 we have been doing winter sports and last week we did soccer with Mrs Head. We started to do the easy steps then it got harder.

I learnt that you have to move fast other wise you get hit by the ball.I found controlling the ball when hitting it between the cones.I liked playing truck and trailer because it was really challenging and hard to keep together.I think soccer is really cool but I think I would rather stick to netball , gymnastics and swimming.

Beam Bridge

This are some photos of Kharma I with our bridge and telling our speech to room 2.This is how we made it.
First we started to do the base on the bottom so the road and footpath could sit on it.Second I started to do the outline of the road and footpath.Third we stuck paper cups to the bottom.Last of all we did the railing so nobody would fall off when people are driving or walking.

Term 1 reflection

This term so far has been going good but right now I am going to tell you what I have learnt.

In term 1 we were leaning about solar and in the last week of school a lady from schoolgen came in to talk about solar and I learnt..

1. Thin film is made in china


2. Solar panels are made out of silicon


3. Silicon is a type of sand


4. The sun's light mostly comes from the north


5. The sun's heat takes 8 minutes to get to us


6. D.C stands for direct current and A.C stands for alternating current

I am good at freestyle and the medley that has butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and then freestyle.

I need to work on butterfly because I can't get my arms out enough.
